My Training Philosophy

Physical Strength is the most important thing in life. This true whether we want it to be or not. - Mark Rippetoe

In the most concise way possible, Mark does a great job of encapsulating my thought process when it comes to training.

Strength is the basis of our physical existence. It allows us to pick up the bag of dogfood off the floor with ease, rather than needing to ask for help from your significant other. It allows us to fly up the stairs after our children or grandchildren, rather than walking.

I have a calling and love of training the “average” person. Strength will have a much more positive, significant, impact on Jen who works in accounting, than it will with Jake, the college athlete. I have worked with this population for a number of years and understand the territory well. You will have life events, ups and downs in your training, and that is ok. Life happens, and I am here to help you fit your training in. Training shouldn’t be your ENTIRE life, I want to help you make it PART of your life.

I train my clients using the simple and proven concept of progressive overload. Now, that doesn’t mean my methods are easy. Training with me will push you, but only enough for you to make progress.
